Alperton Lodge No 5548 were such a Lodge to receive a visit from the Prince Michael of Kent Lodge Support Team who raised Bro Alan Bartlett to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on behalf of the Lodge.
Alperton Lodge were celebrating their 75th Anniversary and along with some 80 guests, enjoyed not only the Raising Ceremony but received the Address to the Grave, The Walking Charge, The Charge after Raising and the additional explanation of the Master Masons Apron.
The Lodge was opened in the usual manner and after the minutes were read, welcomed their visiting Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Richard H Hardaker and his provincial delegation, presided over by W.Bro. Barry Cramer, Deputy Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies. The Worshipful Master then requested W.Bro. Raghu Sharma from PMK Lodge to occupy the Chair of King Solomon. After he had done so, Raghu summoned the rest of the team from outside. The team, led by W.Bro. Kevin Sharp, entered the Lodge in procession and, after saluting the acting Worshipful Master, took the places of all the Officers of the Lodge and began the ceremony.
W.Bro. Bill Stanton who had taken the Chair for the Traditional History thanked the Worshipful Master for allowing PMK to take over his Lodge for a short while and handed back to him for the rest of the evening.
After the Lodge was closed, the Brethren and guests enjoyed a wonderful Festive Board with the evening finishing with the reply for the visitors coming from W.Bro. Miki Travis of Chelsea Lodge who entertained the Brethren with jokes and magic.
The raffle for the evening raised £1,000 for charity which will be faithfully applied.
